♟️ The 14th National Schools Chess Championships 2026 – Assam Welcomes India’s Young Chess Talents
The wait is almost over! From 27th to 31st December 2025, the Sarusajai Indoor Stadium, Guwahati, Assam, will become the proud stage for one of India’s most awaited events — the 14th National School Chess Championship 2026, organized by the All Assam Chess Association (AACA) in association with the All India Chess Federation (AICF).
This grand championship will bring together young school players from across India — each representing their school, their state, and their dreams. Divided into 12 age categories —
Under 7, 9, 11, 13, 15, and 17 (Boys & Girls) — the tournament truly celebrates the future stars of Indian chess.
π A Platform to Learn, Compete, and Grow
The event will be played under FIDE Laws of Chess using the Swiss system, with a total of 9 rounds. Each game will be played with a time control of 90 minutes + 30 seconds increment from move one — ensuring every young mind gets a fair chance to show their skill, focus, and endurance.
Players will also have to follow AICF’s official uniform rule, promoting team identity and discipline — a sign that chess is not just a mind sport, but a movement of unity and respect.
For every age category, 12 prizes will be awarded, with a total prize fund of ₹5,04,000 — recognizing both excellence and effort. π
