The town of Dhekiajuli recently witnessed a historic moment in Assam’s chess journey as the Dihing Valley Society successfully organized the 1st Dhekiajuli All Assam Open Rapid Chess Tournament 2025. Hosted at the prestigious LOKD College, Dhekiajuli, this tournament became a true celebration of passion, strategy, and sportsmanship.

The event was held under the able leadership of Tournament Director Mridul Das, with the tournament smoothly conducted by Chief Arbiter IA Arun Singh M, supported by FA Lakhyajyoti Saikia, Jyotirmoy Borah, and Nitesh Parbat. With a 7-round Swiss format and a rapid time control of 15+5, the competition was designed to test the nerves, preparation, and creativity of every participant.
